How does a soft close hinge work?
A soft close hinge has a built in dampening mechanism which engages near the end of the door closing motion and slows the door down allowing it to close quietly
They are European styled concealed hinges and one of the most commonly used systems in modern cabinetry today. The hinges we are featuring are part of Blum’s Clip Top Blumotion system.
They include built in, soft close functionality and are hidden when the cabinet door is closed.
Are they difficult to install?
Not at all!
The Inserta feature refers to the hinge cup installation method.
They are easily inserted into a 35mm hinge cup hole bored in the back of the door (this is CDP’s standard boring option). Instead of traditional wood screws securing the hinge into the door, we use expanding dowels that fit into pre bored holes. Small locking screws tighten into the dowels to expand them and secure the hinge firmly into place.
The hinge then clips onto a mounting plate attached to the cabinet, allowing for easy adjustment for precise door alignment.
